How We Met

We met in the spring of 2013, at the University of St. Thomas. We had multiple classes and labs together and we ended up being lab partners for our manufacturing class and lab. We got to know each other more and more as the semester progressed. We began hanging out and studying for Manufacturing and Chemistry tests together, watching Supernatural, eating too much candy, and going on dates around the cities. We bonded over our love for our families, dogs, science and many other things. We officially started dating that summer and now we are getting married five years later.

The Engagement

Dylan wanted to propose at the Ice Castles, however they were melting because of the weird winter at the beginning of 2017, so we decided to go to Minnehaha Falls. Minnehaha Falls is a place where Dylan and I go often, and was one of the first few places we went on a date at the beginning of our relationship. It was the place we brought Harper right after got her. So being proposed to there has become just one more reason those waterfalls hold a special place in my heart.

As we walked around Minnehaha Falls, staring at the frozen waterfalls and other frozen tundra landscapes, I kept wondering why Dylan's sister, Courtney, and her boyfriend, Steve, were walking so slow. I kept looking back wondering what was taking them so long, because obviously I want to go to the restaurant and eat dinner! I was completely oblivious. Dylan kept shrugging it off and leading me away. Once we found a place that wasn't crowded with people, Dylan pulled me aside to ask me the big question.

He went down on one knee and I was surprised and so many emotions went through me. I was so shocked but so happy. Yes was obviously the answer!

Yes to a life time with my best friend, loving partner, and my adventure co-pilot.

Yes to a life time of laughter at weird Dylan voices, silly faces and bad jokes.

Yes to a life time together.
