Neither of us ever expected to find our future best friend and life partner on a dating app, but that's exactly how it happened in February 2020!
Jesse had recently moved to a new area and didn't know many people around there. He downloaded bumble, since it seemed easier than trying to meet girls at the local bars.
Danielle went to a girls weekend at a friend's cottage and was heavily pressured to download the app (thank you Marisa!). She was not at all interested initially, but decided it could be fun and would give it a fair shot. One of the very first guys she matched with that night was Jesse.
Due to his busy work schedule, Jesse almost missed the deadline to reply to Danielle's initial message, but he made it just in time. We had an immediate connection and on Valentine's Day, Jesse asked Danielle to go on a lunch date the following day.
We went to a little Italian bistro we both loved called Bellagio's and our lunch date ended up lasting over four hours. We had such a great connection and never ran out of things to talk about. We didn't even realize how much time had passed until it started to get dark outside.
Naturally, one date turned into many and one month after our first date, Jesse officially asked Danielle to be his girlfriend. And then COVID happened, then we moved halfway across the country together, traveled to Egypt together, bought an acreage (our dream that was never going to be a possibility in Toronto) and settled into life in the prairies.
We are so happy with where life has taken us and we are so grateful to be able to spend the rest of our lives with our best friend.
We did technically already get married in September 2024 with just our immediate family present, as Danielle's grandma is 93 years old and will not be able to attend our full wedding on our property. It was important to the both of us that she was able to see us married, which is why we had that small ceremony.
We are so excited to welcome everyone onto our property to celebrate with us!
