Our story began in December 2021. After a few years of the classic dating struggles, Alex decided to try his luck on Hinge. At the same time, Danielle was convinced by some friends to join Hinge for the first time, so on December 7th, she signed up and made her account. Because of the living distance between us, there was very little chance that we would show up on each other's page. However, the same evening Danielle signed up for Hinge, Alex landed at DIA which was only 15 minutes away from where she lived. Alex hopped on Hinge while waiting to deboard his plane and that’s when he swiped upon her profile.

Alex had one rose to give to one person per week, and he decided to send that rose to Danielle. She saw the rose and checked out his profile, and was immediately disappointed to discover he listed John Mayer as one of his favorite artists. Danielle then messaged Alex and thanked him for the rose but informed him that she strongly disliked John Mayer and his music (due to being a Taylor Swift fan). Alex then admitted to not liking John Mayer and that he only put that on his profile because of a friend's advice. Danielle then proceeded to ask what his real music taste was like, and he listed Glass Animals as one of his favorite bands at the time. This was also one of her favorite bands, and the connection was made.

Alex and Danielle exchanged numbers and texted back and forth for a few weeks before finally setting the first date on December 18th. Due to being highly nervous and unsure about the person she was going to meet, Danielle decided to meet at a poké restaurant in Denver during peak lunchtime to help ensure the first date went safely. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t very good at the restaurant, leading her to eat very little of her lunch. Even though the conversation was great and we both were enjoying the first meet, Alex took this as a sign that the date wasn't going very well, causing him to end it only 30 minutes in. We headed our separate ways, but Alex felt like there was chemistry between them and decided he wanted to try again. He texted her and asked for a second date, and reluctantly, Danielle said yes. Fortunately for us, it went much better than the first, and was the true beginning to our relationship.

Fast forward to September of 2023. Earlier in the year, we had gone to San Diego on vacation and both fell in love with the beaches and beautiful weather it brought. While there, Alex had the realization that San Diego would be the perfect place to propose to Danielle, so he put together a scheme to get us back there in September without her realizing what was truly happening. There on the beach he got down on one knee and presented her with not only a ring, but a glass rose representing the first rose he sent her on Hinge and showing how our love has blossomed into the relationship we currently have. Of course the answer she gave was yes, and this brings us to the present day.

Today, three years later, we are living in our home raising three cats together. We can't wait to share our happily ever after with you in fabulous Las Vegas this coming June!
