Danni & Logan

October 1, 2022 • Pittsburgh, PA

Once upon a time on September 25th 2015, Logan and I had our very first date in Lawrenceville. After some coffee and dinner, we stood outside of my car for 3 hours (just) talking. No goodnight kiss- I had no idea if this guy liked me! We went out a few more times; dinner, embarrassing date at Burgatory, karaoke... then we watched Frozen and had our first kiss in the rain. Well, on October 13th 2015 I went over to Logan’s apartment in Crafton to watch the Pittsburgh Penguins game. During the game, he paused and asked me to be his girlfriend! On February 14th, 2016 Logan sent me flowers with a note saying “I love you.” When I finished my shift at Build-a-Bear, I drove over to tell him “I love you too.” Since then, we have had many adventures together and crossed off bucket-list items: having glass seats at a hockey game, my first Penn State football game, going to Steelers games, our first anniversary celebration on the Gateway Clipper, traveling to Ireland, going to Disney on Ice, getting our own place together on Mt. Washington, getting a puppy, breaking my foot part 1, Logan’s NYC birthday trip with both of our parents, me graduating with my master's degree and landing a big girl job, new cars, weddings, beach trips, my move to Virginia, breaking my foot part 2, traveling to Italy, Logan landing his job in Virginia, both of us moving to Virginia, creating a 5-year plan, Logan entering his master’s program, us deciding to build a house... all of it led up to...

Saturday, October 10th, 2020, we were celebrating our anniversary early and left the house around 5:45pm. Logan was driving- we were headed to look at our lot. We passed a wedding and arrived at the tree-covered plot of land where our future home will be built. Logan told me he wanted to look at it and we both got out of the car. Logan took my hand and said “We will be making a lot of memories here, I wanted this to be the first. With that, he got down on one knee and pulled out a little blue box and asked me to marry him. Crying, asking if that moment was real, I said yes.
We planned for our wedding to be October 2nd, 2021. However, life had different plans for us. We made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone our wedding. Turning a tragedy into something beautiful, we had a small ceremony at the Allegheny Courthouse with our immediate family and bridal party. We are ecstatic to be able to celebrate our year anniversary by having our church ceremony and boat reception with ALL of our family and friends.
