Danny and Emily’s love story started as most great love stories of the 21st century do - on Tinder. It was February of 2021 when Danny super liked Emily and she decided to make it a match. They talked for weeks via snapchat, which is still their primary form of communication to this day, to both ensure the other was neither a catfish nor totally insane.

The first date apparently went well, because Danny was confident enough about Emily to invite her to his birthday celebration at Best Man Blake’s house for their second date. By June, Danny met the parents while supporting Emily at an all day strongman competition, and by July, Emily traveled with Danny to meet Best Man, Sean, and his family in Tennessee.

For the next two and a half years of dating, they never spent more than two weeks apart. Some of their favorite times spent together have included camping trips, watching movies, attending weddings, a vacation to Cancun, and participating in fall and Christmas traditions.

Then, on September 1, 2023, Danny bit his nails as the two traveled to Rend Lake for a wekend of camping. Emily asked if he was nervous or something, totally oblivious to the fact that a ring was hiding in his bag. He proposed that evening, and she said “wait are you serious? …forreal? …uh hundred percent!” - which he knew meant yes.

Now, Danny and Emily are counting down the days until they, along with their fur babies (Cat Stephens and Lucy) become a forever family! All because two people swiped right. (Well, technically, Danny swiped up to superlike; Emily’s was just a regular swipe to the right).
