Q: What visas do I need to travel to South Korea?
A: As of February 2025, South Korea will not require US Citizens to request permission to travel to Korea via K-ETA until December 31, 2025.
Q: What airport should I land in?
A: Incheon Airport (ICN)
Q: What neighborhood should we stay in?
A: The wedding hall is in Sinchon, but there are no tenable hotels in Sinchon. We recommend finding lodging south-west wards in Hondae / Hong University Station
Q: Are monetary donations required and or expected?
A: No, we want to have a wedding to celebrate. While we do accept any gratuities, do not feel pressured to provide us gifts or money. Your presence and effort to take time from your busy lives to see us is worth a lot more than money.
Q: What other things should we do in Seoul?
A: We will release a document with other things you can do in Seoul if you are staying for several days. There is much to try, see, and do and we welcome you to spend time with us after the wedding.
Q: How do we get to the Hongik University Station / Sinchon Station from Incheon?
A: You can arrange for a bus at Incheon Airport to take you to the aforementioned stations. Incheon Airport has a subway, but you would need to get Korean Won to buy a ticket at the machine or to buy a T-mark card to load money into the card. You may also take a taxi from Incheon airport to your destination.
Q: What GPS apps should I use?
A: Please download NAVER Maps as Google Maps and Apple Maps do not work in Korea.
Q: How should I get WiFi or signal?
A: You can purchase a plan from your phone company or if you want to be more economical, there is an E-Sim and pocket wifi stand outside of the customs area towards the convenience store.
Q: Does Korea take AMEX?
A: Yes, we can recall 99% of our transactions were done via AMEX.
Q: The escalators don’t look like they are working.
A: Try walking up to it. Korean escalators sometimes idle when it does not detect people.
Q: Can I drink alcohol in public in Korea?
A: Yes. Try not to do it at a school.
