Our wedding villa is located roughly 20 minutes outside of the Italian city of Florence (Firenze). You can fly into the Florence airport (Amerigo Vespucci Airport) or Rome airport (Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport).

If flying into Rome, you can take the high-speed train to Florence. The high-speed train ride from Rome to Florence is about an hour and a half (Roma Termini Station to Firenze S.M. Novella Station). TrenItalia and Italo are the recommended train lines to travel from Rome to Florence. We recommend booking your trains in advance, as that will ensure the best prices and seat selection. Double check your reservation to make sure you are booking the high-speed train.

Most of our guests will be staying in the city of Florence. Florence is a small city and all of the main attractions are in walking distance from the city center. Uber is not typically available in Florence and most people rely on taxis if they need a car to get around. You most likely will not need a taxi in Florence other than when you arrive and depart with your luggage.

In Italy taxis are not typically flagged down as they pass you along the street. Taxis are instead "stationed" at special taxi parking stands in most of the major squares and at the airport and train station. Taxis can also be requested by phone.

Some of the main taxi stations are as follows: Santa Maria Novella train station, Piazza Santa Maria Novella, Piazza Unita Italia, Piazza San Marco, Piazza Santa Croce, Piazza Santa Trinita, Ponte Vecchio, Barbadori, Piazza Ferrucci, Piazza della Republica, Piazza Cesare Beccaria, Piazza della Indipendenza and Piazzale Michelangelo.

Additionally, you can always ask the concierge at your hotel/a restaurant/a bar to call you a taxi if needed.

We will arrange for a shuttle to and from Villa Medicea di Lilliano from a pick-up point in Florence. Stay tuned for further details on the shuttle service closer to the day of the event. Additionally, the villa is reachable by taxi for a cost of roughly 35 to 40 euros.

On Friday evening (June 20, 2025), we will host a Welcome Party in Florence city center. If possible, we recommend arriving to Florence on Friday morning to settle in before the celebrations begin!
