Our Wedding

Isaac and Daphne lived just a few doors apart in their freshman dorm at Michigan Tech, their lives separated only by a few rooms. They were introduced through a mutual friend in their hall, and before long, their small circle of acquaintances grew into a tight-knit group. On weekends, late nights were spent crowded around a dorm room playing drinking games, or they’d escape campus life by ice fishing, swapping stories around a campfire, or setting off on spontaneous day trips to explore the beauty of the Upper Peninsula. What started as a casual introduction soon became the foundation of countless shared adventures and unforgettable memories.

How We Met

Although Isaac and Daphne met during their freshman year of college, their relationship remained purely platonic, just two friends within a larger group. It wasn’t until their sophomore year that something shifted, something that their friends had caught onto long before. On November 11, 2021, it finally became something more and marked a new chapter in a story that had already been quietly unfolding.

Throughout their years in college, both Daphne and Isaac took job positions that required them to relocate for a year, forcing them to navigate the challenges of a long-distance relationship. There were late-night video calls, countdowns to their next visit, and countless texts filled with both excitement and longing. Despite the distance, their bond only grew stronger. They supported each other through new jobs, unfamiliar cities, and the ups and downs of being apart. Each reunion felt like a celebration, a reminder that no matter how far life took them, they were always finding their way back to each other. Their commitment wasn’t just spoken it was proven, time and time again.

On August 3, 2024, Isaac drove to Door County, WI, his heart racing with anticipation. He had planned every detail of the surprise proposal, ensuring it would be unforgettable. Hiding behind the vineyards, he waited as Daphne posed for what she thought was just another photo. As he walked up the row behind her, someone turned her around once—then again. This time, she recognized him. Shock turned to tears as he dropped to one knee. After saying yes, Daphne turned to see her immediate family, Isaac’s parents, and her friends’ families, all there to celebrate the moment.

The engagement 

Daphne and Isaac spent 419 days engaged, savoring every moment as they planned their wedding together. From choosing the perfect venue to finalizing the smallest details, they navigated the excitement and challenges hand in hand, counting down the days until they could finally say "I do."
