In our freshman year of 2020, both our families had the brilliant idea of fueling up on Blue Ridge Bagels during move-in day. Amidst the chaos of Liberty families, Daphne caught sight of Cameron from across the room and gave a wave to snag his attention. Among the sea of new faces and connections, Daphne and Cameron seemed to cross paths on campus more often than not. It took a few weeks, but finally, Cameron took the time to introduce himself, and a friendship sparked to life. Daphne, however, kept her growing crush on him on the down-low for the entire following year;)

Fast forward to the return from summer break in 2021, and fate intervened once again as Cameron and Daphne found themselves in the same food line on campus. That chance encounter led to a rekindling of connection, and over the next few months, feelings started to blossom. After numerous dates to the Blue Ridge Parkway, ice cream outings, and more, Cameron popped the question, asking Daphne to officially be his girlfriend!

The years that followed were a montage of study sessions, workouts, travel escapades across the States, and, most importantly, a deepening understanding of God and His kingdom together. After a year and a half, Cameron sought the blessing for a significant step forward in their relationship. Daphne, desiring a surprise, had no inkling of when, where, or how the proposal would happen.

Continuing our tradition of setting aside two special dates each month, we planned a hike with a cozy dinner on October 28th, 2023. Blissfully unaware of the ring burning a hole in Cameron's pocket, Daphne hiked up Mount Pleasant in her own little world. At the mountain's peak, after a few pictures and a couple granola bars, Cameron took a knee and asked the big question. Amidst tears and repeated "are you kidding?" exclamations, she said yes! The details of the engagement unfolded on the descent, and we celebrated at a private dinner downtown before Cameron sprung a surprise gathering with friends and family to cap off the joyous occasion!

As we navigate this engagement season, we're discovering the depths of the Lord's provision and guidance, as He leads us through life decisions and preparing us for the union that lies ahead. We can't wait to join our families and friends in a celebration of all that He has done and will continue to do in our lives!
