Our story starts all the way back in 2016, Darby and Cameron’s freshman year of high school. Darby had seen Cameron during some freshman events at the beginning of the year and was immediately obsessed.

Over the course of their freshman year and the beginning of sophomore year, Darby’s obsession grew. Cameron, however, barely even knew who Darby was. To him, she was the random girl who did back handsprings on stage. That is, until the end of their sophomore year.

During second semester of sophomore year, Cameron and Darby went on a school trip to Branson. During the trip, Cameron noticed Darby and started to flirt...a lot. Little did he know, Darby actually had a boyfriend. Upon finding out, Cameron settled into the friend zone.

But this wasn't the only thing to come out of the trip. Cameron and Darby both ended up in a new friend group in which they would spend their junior year. Because of this group, the pair spent every day together and when Darby and her boyfriend eventually broke up, Cameron was right there to swoop in.

In the weeks after Darby and her boyfriend broke up, Cameron's flirting intensified. Eventually Cam asked Darby on a date. The pair went to Chick-fil-A and were then supposed to go to B&B Theatres in Wentzville; however, things didn't quite go as planned. Cameron drove to Wildwood instead of Wentzville, but that theater was not showing the movie they were planning on seeing. Eventually they ended up at AMC in Chesterfield.

Not long after, Cam asked Darby to Homecoming, to which she of course said yes. From then on the two became inseparable and after two weeks of dating, Cameron told Darby he loved her.

Over the next five years, the pair would encounter many adventures, but also many trials. They graduated high school together, went through college together, took a break, got back together, traveled together, celebrated countless holidays, and everything in between.

Darby and Camerons mom Bobbie were scheduled to take college senior pictures on Sunday, September 3. A few days before, Bobbie told Darby that Lindsey, Cams sister, would be joining them. Together the three went to Missouri Baptist to take lots of senior pictures. After finishing at MBU, the group was scheduled to meet Cameron at Main Street St. Charles to take some senior pictures together.


Upon arriving at Main Street, Darby and Bobbie went by the river to take pictures with a champagne bottle. Cameron opted to stay in the car due to the heat and Lindsey had not yet arrived after driving separately. Darby took pictures with the champagne and they went very well; however, she then decided she wanted to try to get pictures spraying the bottle as well. This of course ended up with the champagne spraying directly into Darbys face and soaking her.


After drying off a bit and a makeup retouch, they continued with more pictures. At this point, Bobbie had told Darby that Cameron had gone to the bathroom. Then soon after Lindsey arrived and she went to the bathroom as well. A couple minutes later Darby was informed that the siblings had met up and that Bobbie and Darby were going to meet them. The two walked across the street to the gazebo on Main Street.


As they rounded the corner, Darby saw Cameron waiting there on a white blanket adorned with rose petals, pictures, music, and other cute items. Cameron met Darby and walked her over to the blanket, where he proceeded to deliver the sweetest speech. Then Cameron knelt down and proposed! To which Darby of course said yes! The engagement was followed by an impromptu photoshoot and surprise engagement party.

On the day of proposal, Cameron was at bowling tryouts in the morning. It was already a stressful weekend for him, so having this to look forward to helped calm him down throughout the process. After tryouts he raced home to shower and meet Darby and his mom at Main Street Saint Charles for what was supposed to be senior pictures. Little did she know he had more planned for the day.


When he got there he snuck off to “the bathroom” where he met up with Lindsey to set up the proposal. They played music and set up some lights, rose petals, and pictures of the couple throughout the years.


Once Darby came over to the setup, he met her and gave her a big hug, followed by walking her over to the setup. There he talked to her, told her about how much he loved her, and then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes and made him the happiest man in the world.
