Our Wedding

One fateful Friday, in a galaxy far, FAR away, our love story began as a tale as old as time. Darcie's best friends threatened to sign her up on a dating app. After a whole year of her friends berating her, she finally caved and created her profile. As fate would have it, we both "swiped right and found a Whole New World!" (Pause for song to play in your head.)After using the innerweb means of communication for a week's time, Darcie decided that Matt was NOT a serial killer with a "S" and only a cereal killer with a "C"....and felt safe enough to agree to meet him for coffee. (Alerting her best friends, who constantly had a meme sharing contest blowing up Darcie's phone the entire time of the date!) Our first date, was meeting "as friends"....no pressure. "The force was strong with this one", although never actually getting any coffee, we talked until the coffee shop closed, which led to us deciding to get dinner! (Matt technically "owed" Darcie a cup of coffee... a running joke for quite awhile.) We proceeded to a steakhouse, (actually ordered food!), talked intensely until all staff were cleaning around us closing up the place and we HAD to leave! No worse for wear, we stayed in the parking lot by our cars talking until 1am! Best first date ever! After that, we both realized that we were not destined to be "just friends." We both went our separate ways, which was less than a mile away for Darcie but for Matt was 45 min to an hour drive to go help friends (The Anderson's), move from their apartment to their first house that weekend. Both of us wanting to see each other again soon, Darcie invited Matt to her place for dinner 2 days later, on Sunday. ...and the rest they say, is "history."

Absolutely beautiful driving tour. There are also breathtaking hiking trails also.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

This place is amazing, not in Gatlinburg, but about a 30 min drive to Pigeon Forge. It's one of Darcie's favorite places to visit. They have amazing baked goods, (especially brownies!)

Dollywood

Clingmans Dome has been renamed to Kuwohi. It's the highest point in the Smoky Mountains National Park. and located on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee. It's also the highest point in Tennessee and along the Appalachian Trail. The summit offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and forests. It's a hike, very windy and cold. Bring a blanket and water. Awesome views and creates memories you'll never forget.

Kuwohi Visitor Center

Deliciously sweet, one of a kind wine. You can purchase samples and the price you pay for the samples can be applied towards your wine purchase!

Gatlinburg Winery
