It was the end of summer in 2011. Darienne had a few friends over to swim in her parent's pool. Chris and his brother stopped by to pick something up from a mutual friend. Darienne spotted Chris and was instantly curious about his mysterious and quiet demeanor. Some time later, the same mutual friend threw a house party out on their country property. Darienne and Chris connected at the party and there was instant chemistry. They spent the remainder of the summer together and have been together ever since.

In the movies, the "I Love You" always happens at the right place, at the right time, in the perfect moment. For Darienne and Chris, the "I Love You" struck at random, and it may not have been what is considered the right place, at the right time, or in the perfect moment, but it was their moment and it was perfect to them. Looking back on it, it makes them laugh and goes to prove there is no avoiding what you feel when you feel it! Chris said I love you first, while goofing around on their futon. There was a nervous pause from Chris and the "I have to tell you something but I don't want to freak out you" happened; Chris mustered up the courage and told Darienne "I love you". Darienne felt the big L a little later on when they were eating Mcdonald's, parked in their car, in a random parking lot in Strathroy. Mid bite into her cheeseburger, this overwhelming sensation washed over her (even scared her a little) and she looked at Chris and said "I have to tell you something...(nervous pause)... "I love you and it quite literally just happened!" They started to laugh, and from there, never looked back.

Doing life right the first time was very important to Chris and Darienne, before delving into something as big as Marriage. They wanted to live life together first! They travelled, built a house, established their careers, adopted their fur baby, Boobert (Zeus), and matured together as individuals and in their relationship. When all of that fell perfectly into place, marriage and building a family made perfect sense as the next chapter of life together. There is no other person they would rather do life with, that would make it as loving, supportive, fun, and adventurous as it is when they are together.

Fast forward to their 10th year together: It was Canada Day weekend in 2022. Chris planned a romantic evening on a private beach in Grand Bend, close enough to see the fire works for Canada Day. Chris built a fire on the beach, the sunset was gorgeous, and during the fireworks, Chris proposed to Darienne, to which she of course said "YES!".

The wedding is fast approaching, September 21, 2024 in Strathroy! Our sincerest thank you to everyone who has believed in and supported us over the years and to our parents and closest friends who have helped make this dream wedding come to life!

We can't wait to celebrate our love with each of you on the big day!
