We met as many do on an app and met for our first date at Vertical Endeavors Bouldering. Over the next few months we spent the summer playing together in Minneapolis, failing to take a single photo together.

A short 6 months after we met, Maggie took a job with Patagonia and moved to Ventura, CA. We stayed in touch and David came out to visit. We spent the week road tripping up the coast to Big Sur, chasing elephant seals and sea otters.

The whole California thing didn't work out, so Maggie made her second cross country move back to Minneapolis. David joined for the drive back. Finally the two would live in the same area for the foreseeable future.

Our colocated time was short lived, David quit his job and spent the next 6 months traveling the country and world. Maggie met him along the way as much as possible, spending time together across Canada, Wyoming, and Norway.

Once David returned from his travels we moved in together in an apartment in the North Loop!

We spent the next year or so traveling to the mountains as much as possible, from ski trips to backpacking trips. Destinations included California, Colorado, North Carolina, Montana, Wyoming, and Spain.

We bought a house! Settling down a bit we bought a house in South Minneapolis!

We went on a backpacking trip on a section of the Superior Hiking Trail. On the second day David popped the question and Maggie (of course) said yes! We spent the rest of the day hiking to a beautiful campsite on lake Agnes that we shared with a family of loons.
