You may not know this, but Dave and Britt are really into running. Not only do they run a lot, but they are both very active in the Chicago running community. Despite probably crossing paths on the Lakefront path or races countless times, they never really crossed paths by way of an introduction. But in the summer of 2022, Dave started seeing Britt around, and turning his eye. The Montrose Track, a second home to them, is where he first recalls seeing her as she raced a mile. Not long after were they running next to each other in a half marathon. And it was that half marathon, the Hidden Gem Half Marathon of all names, where they finally met and quickly became friends. Though there was a level of attraction, there was cautious optimism by both of them. They walked away from their first date not knowing if it truly was a date. But fortunately the energy from the 2022 Chicago Marathon changed that. Dave and Britt ran incredible races that day, and in the celebration they made it clear to each other that they wanted more than to be just friends.


Since then, Dave and Britt have grown as partners supporting each other in running and their careers. They've welcomed each other into their friends circles and families. They've traveled to Japan, Patagonia, and other exotic places like Houston and New York City. And yes, they run together, a lot. It may be a race or it may be a morning jog; they always try to stay active together. Sometimes they run at 4:00 in the morning.


Months before Dave proposed, he knew she was the one for him. And so in New York City on November 3rd, after a lovely dinner with some friends in lower Manhattan, Dave took Britt for a walk in Central Park. On that walk he told Britt how much she meant to him, and how happy he made her. The details are a bit hazy from there because both of them were so nervous and excited. But what we do know is that Dave asked for her hand in marriage, and Britt said Yes!


We are thrilled to celebrate our love with all of you in September. There is no way we could have done this wedding any smaller than it is planned for, and that is because each and every one of you mean so much to us. Thank you all for being a part of our lives and what will be a very special day.
