January, 5th 2023.

Cami is sitting in her computer systems class at Brigham Young University of Idaho. She sits in the very middle of the classroom, ready to hear about the syllabus and expectations of the class.

About 15 minutes into the class, a young man comes into the class room, somewhat out of breath. He scans the room for a spot to sit and his eyes land on the seat right next to Cami. She also notices his pick of seat and begins to scoot over a little to make room for the late newcomer.

David was late to class because his previous class was on the complete opposite end of campus. He had to run to make it, explaining why he was out of breath. While trying to scan for seats, he saw Cami and thought, "I'm going to sit next to that cute girl."

At first, David tries to engage in conversation with Cami. She mostly gives him a side-eye to stop talking to her because she's trying to pay attention in class. Eventually, David takes the hint and stops talking.

The class ends, and Cami starts putting her things away, thinking of her plans for the rest of the day and not paying attention to the boy next to her.

"Hey, the Shockers! I know them!"

Cami looked at David in bewilderment. On her backpack was a button of the Wichita State mascot, WuShock, a shock of wheat.

"How on earth do you know what that is?"

"Oh, I served my church mission there!"

Curious, Cami continued to ask about David's knowledge of Wichita, Kansas, discovering that they very well could have crossed paths at church. They had no recollection of each other, but know many of the same people.

Eventually, as time went on and the two got to know each other, Cami and David decided to start dating officially in early April. Cami did reject him in the beginning, but she came around.

The rest is history. Cami and David have now been together for over a year and are so excited to share the start the next chapter of their journey with you!
