We met while shopping. You’ve probably seen that happen in countless TV shows and movies, but we met while shopping online…in the “meet market” that is the online dating world.

The time had to be just right…any earlier or any later and they might have passed each other by on the street without a word.

But the timing was exactly right for both of us right around the middle-to-end of January 2023. After discovering each other, we began chatting online, then talking and texting. On Tuesday, January 31, we finally met for the first time for dinner at Mike’s Tavern in Hixson…and it was like we already knew each other pretty well.

David said: “I don’t know if ‘love at first site’ exists, but this was pretty close to that…I knew right away that I wanted to get to know Kristine better.”

Before long we were spending quite a lot of time together, learning about each other, and making memories…from our first photo together while walking over the Walnut Street Bridge, taking the riverboat evening cruise for Kristine’s birthday, going to concerts and musicals, spending time with our family and friends.

The exact timing took her by surprise, but it’s safe to say that no one was totally surprised when David asked Kristine to marry him last December. Her “Yes!” answer shocked no one, either.

We are looking forward to building this new life together, and look forward to celebrating it with our friends and family this October.
