Our Wedding

David and I met at Morningside Baptist Church, in our young adult class called Pursue. Our love wasn’t love at first sight, but I can say that once we started talking, we clicked. Our first conversation was brief it was a Sunday night during a pie night at church. After New Years Eve he decided to invite me to dinner. We had our first date at a restaurant and then he took me to a bookstore to walk around. We were reading book titles, and I can say that after 1 or 2 aisles, I thought, "Wow, I really like this guy." David was so open to letting me get to know him; our discussions about book titles were both fun and revealing, seeing how a man so quiet could talk so freely with me. The second date was just as special. We went to another book store. As we walked, we talked about our goals and the things we liked and I realized that we shared many similar beliefs, values and aspirations. It was at that moment that I knew there was something very special between us. David has always been very attentive and affectionate. His small acts of kindness and his way of listening have made me feel very valued and loved. Throughout our short relationship, we have learned a lot from each other and have grown together, and I am grateful for every moment we have shared, and how the Lord has moved us to getting to know each other and care about and love one another. David and I got engaged on June 16, and it has been the easiest and quickest "yes" of my life. God has been good to bring together two imperfect people who want to build a home that honors and serves Him. David and I share the desire to serve together in our church, where we will get married and where we plan to continue growing. We want to thank everyone who has helped, guided, and supported us on this journey and in building our family. This wedding would not be possible without the many people and blessings we have received from family, friends, and loved ones. We want to celebrate that day with each of you, who are so important to David and me. Nuestro amor no fue amor a primera vista, pero puedo decir que una vez que empezamos a hablar, hicimos clic. Nuestra primera conversación fue breve, fue una noche de domingo durante una noche de pastel en la iglesia. Después de la víspera de Año Nuevo, decidió invitarme a cenar. Tuvimos nuestra primera cita en un restaurante y luego me llevó a una librería a caminar. Íbamos leyendo títulos de libros, y puedo decir que después de uno o dos pasillos, pensé: "Wow, realmente me gusta este chico." David fue tan abierto a que yo lo conociera; nuestras discusiones sobre títulos de libros fueron tanto divertidas como reveladoras, viendo cómo un hombre tan callado podía hablar tan libremente conmigo. La segunda cita fue igual de especial. Fuimos a otra librería. Mientras caminábamos, hablamos sobre nuestras metas y las cosas que nos gustaban, y me di cuenta de que compartíamos muchas creencias, valores y aspiraciones similares. Fue en ese momento que supe que había algo muy especial entre nosotros.David siempre ha sido muy atento y cariñoso. Sus pequeños gestos de amabilidad y su forma de escucharme me han hecho sentir muy valorada y querida. A lo largo de nuestra corta relación, hemos aprendido mucho el uno del otro y hemos crecido juntos, y estoy agradecida por cada momento que hemos compartido, y cómo el Señor nos ha movido a conocernos, cuidar y amarnos. David y yo nos comprometimos el 16 de junio, y ha sido el "sí" más fácil y rápido de mi vida. Dios ha sido bueno al unir a dos personas imperfectas que quieren construir un hogar que lo honre y le sirva. David y yo compartimos el deseo de servir juntos en nuestra iglesia, donde nos casaremos y donde planeamos seguir creciendo.Queremos agradecer a todos los que nos han ayudado, guiado y apoyado en este viaje y en la construcción de nuestra familia. Esta boda no sería posible sin las muchas personas y bendiciones que hemos recibido de parte de la familia, amigos y seres queridos.
