It all began in May 2022 when we met on a dating site. Neither of us was expecting to find forever, but life had other plans. We (Maya and David) quickly realized how perfectly our worlds fit together. We each brought amazing children into this new chapter—Layla, my daughter, and Treveon, Admiel, and Devorah, David’s three kids. And, of course, David's two dogs, Stella and Ellie, became part of our blended family too.

Our first date was one to remember—a mini-golf game where I (Maya) didn’t exactly excel, and David barely said a word for the first 40 minutes! But everything changed during a walk and dinner, where we finally opened up. That day turned into the longest first date ever, and we’ve spent nearly every day together since.

From cozy movie nights to trying out new restaurants, hosting family gatherings, and catching NBA and WNBA games, we’ve built a life filled with love and laughter. We share a deep appreciation for 90s hip hop, R&B, and Marvel movies, which fuels our binge-watching marathons at home.

In December 2022, we bought a home together, and it’s perfect—each of the kids has their own room, and the dogs have a big yard to run around in. We’ve had some unforgettable trips—celebrating David’s 40th in Mexico, exploring Chicago, spending Ella's birthday this year in Atlanta, enjoying our "F them kids" trip in Las Vegas, and regularly visiting Nebraska to spend time with David's mom, Ella, and the two younger kids. But our most cherished memory is our trip to Jamaica for Christmas, where David proposed on a beautiful beach—just the two of us. Ella and the kids were with us on the trip, making it even more special.

Though we’ve each lived many different lives, this is the one where we feel we were always meant to end up—together, with our families beautifully intertwined.

We can’t wait to celebrate our love with you on May 24th, 2025, in Saint Paul, MN. Our wedding day will be a joyous celebration filled with love, laughter, and dancing, and we’re so excited to share it with everyone who’s been part of our journey.
