Our Wedding

It all began on June 1, 2021, after a few days of chatting on the dating app Hinge. John found out that David had just moved to his former neighborhood, the Inner Richmond in SF. In fact from David's front windows, you could see the back of John's former apartment. So as the good tour guide he is, John charmingly offered to introduce David to some of his favorite local spots. We met for dinner at Burma Superstar where it did indeed seem as if the stars had aligned.   From the very beginning, we both couldn't deny - as much as we tried to play it cool - that there was something undeniably special about our connection. David was drawn to John’s tender strength and silly goose personality. John admired David’s fierce open heart, and unwavering authentic spark. Together, singing along to the best pop hits from the past 20 years, we found a rhythm that felt like home.   Since then, there's been no shortage of life lived. We’ve adventured to some of our dream destinations: like David’s dream of Italy and Vatican City; while John insisted David venture with him to Arctic Canada in the middle of Winter (-45 degrees!) to chase the Northern Lights. Through career leaps, dog and plant dadding, and last year purchasing our own home in Oakland, it's been 4.5 years but a lifetime of memories already.   2024 brought both joy and heartbreak. We were blessed with precious time with David’s beloved mom, Monica, as we purchased a home together in March. We were also incredibly fortunate that we chose to sign our marriage license with her by our side under a grove of redwoods in Golden Gate Park in a small, private ceremony. It is something we will forever cherish that Monica/Mom was able to witness the depth of our love. She even had the chance to meet John's beloved Grandma and cousin Brittney who flew in for our proposal.   The story wouldn't be complete without a little puppy love- actually, a lot of it. In the beginning, Graham, originally John’s sassy pup, allowed David to become his second daddy. Then, we made sure Mom’s three dogs, Toby, Khloe, and Jake, never felt any lack of love as we all navigated our new chapter together. Together, we are our own pack.   As we prepare to finally celebrate with our cherished community, we can’t help but to feel so much gratitude. Here's to a continuation of our story that we’re honored to share with all of you, those we love most!   We joyfully affirm the road ahead, filled with building a warm and welcoming home, traveling to new destinations, and embarking on our parenthood journey. During this beautiful time, we joyfully carry the memories of our loved ones who are no longer with us, such as David’s parents Monica and Dave, John’s grandfather Ray, and our beloved friend Angelo.

CEREMONY Saturday December 20, 2:00 - Edelweiss Restaurant, **location, we will commence our ceremony here, followed by custom meal of delicious German food and drinks. CELEBRATION - Saturday, December 20, 5:00 The Broadmoor Hotel, location. This hotel is absolutely one of the best in the US at Christmas time and this will be a chance to (figuratively) break the ice, walk the grounds, and drinks/food are available for purchase at one of the many bars on the grounds. If you’d like to stay at the Broadmoor, Please call them and say you’re guests of John and David - our guests get a special rate!,
