Our journey began in Zambia, where we first crossed paths in elementary school. Our families have been close friends for years, and even though we didn’t know it back then, life had a special connection in store for us.

Years later, we both moved to the United States—though to different states. Despite the distance, our families stayed connected. Christine’s father visited David’s family in Ohio, and David’s family visited Christine’s family in Iowa. It was during one of these visits that the bond between us began to take root.

A couple of years later, Christine attended David’s brother’s wedding in Ohio, giving us more time to reconnect. Even so, it wasn’t until Christine’s college graduation that we started talking more and really getting to know one another.

A few months later, our friendship turned into something more, and we began dating. The rest, as they say, is history—leading up to our engagement, traditional wedding, and marking the next chapter in this beautiful story we’ve been writing together.
