There are so many activities right outside the doors of our hotel on Washington Ave (the main street of Golden)! Some local favorites include breweries, hiking trails, shopping, and dining all around Golden. Depending on the weather, a popular activity is renting tubes and floating down beautiful clear creek right next to the hotel.
If you're looking for a bigger adventure, Colorado is the place to be and the options are endless! Our favorite mountain town is Breckenridge which is only 1.5 hours away. And of course, downtown Denver is within a 20 minute drive.

The Golden Mill
This funky and unique spot offers a food hall with 5 different options, a tap wall with over 60 different self-pour drink options, and a roof top with views. There is live music on Thursdays 5-8 and Sundays 3-6.
Sherpa House
This authentic Nepalese-owned restaurant brings a true Himalayan experience inspired by expeditions to Mount Everest. Stop by for their lunch buffet to taste a little of everything!

Buffalo Rose

Goosetown Station
In a historic building dating back to 1867, this venue offers outdoor music and an indoor bar. Performances run weekly Thursday through Sunday, doors open at 4 and music starts at 5.
Red Rocks Amphitheater
This legendary outdoor amphitheater carved out of natural sandstone formations hosts both world renowned acts and local musicians spanning a wide range of genres.
Clear Creek Trail
Go right out of the hotel patio and you’re there! This 2 mile easy trail follows the banks of Clear Creek through several Golden neighborhoods and eventually connects to a 19 mile trail system in Denver Metro areas.
North & South Tabletop
Just under a mile from the hotel- get to the top of them to see a beautiful view of the whole town! South table is a 1.4 mile easy trail while North table is 1.5 miles and moderate-difficult.
Look Out Mountain Park
Drive up, walk around, and have a picnic. Or even drive all the way up and over the mountain into the neighboring town Evergreen to have a mini mountain loop experience!
The lookout mountain trail is 4.4 miles and moderate.
Red Rocks
Whether you’re going to a concert while in town or wanting to just hike around the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, it is a short 15-minute drive from the hotel with hours of fun. While there grab some food at the small downtown of Morrison or hike through their vast trail network.
Clear Creek Tubing
Looking for a rapid-filled adventure? Take a float through downtown Golden's Clear Creek. Recommended outfitters include: Adventure West, Clear Creek Rafting Company, Golden River Sports, Rocky Mountain Paddleboard, and Golden River Tubing.
Most people tube for 2-3 hours and water shoes are recommended.
Dinosaur Ridge
Have kids? Dinosaur Ridge is a family friendly spot where you can see and touch fossils in the mountainside, walk through trails, take a guided bus tour, stop by the visitor's center for exhibits and a kid's dig area, and more.

Another family favorite, this museum offers huge indoor and outdoor model railroads where the realistic toy engines round just like the real thing. The are dozens of genuine cars, locomotives, and cabooses on 15 acres to explore.
