It all began on October 2, 2022, when David and Caitlyn met at Alchemist Bar in San Francisco. Something just clicked. Not long after, on November 11, David asked Caitlyn to go on their “second first date”—this time as an official couple—and from there, the adventure truly began. From the very start, their relationship was filled with laughter, connection, and meaning. That first holiday season, David joined Caitlyn and her family for Thanksgiving. On one of their first trips together, she brought him to Lodi to meet her closest friends. It was more than just a visit—it was Caitlyn’s way of showing how much David meant to her, introducing him to the people who mattered most in her life. He fit in seamlessly, and their bond only grew stronger. Since then, road trips have become one of their favorite ways to explore the world together. They’ve wandered the charming streets of Nevada City, taken in the coastal beauty of Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey, and traveled to places like Reno, Puerto Rico, Mendocino, and Denver—chasing new experiences, sipping creative cocktails, getting lost in art museums and interactive installations, and soaking up every moment along the way. Most recently, they set off on the ultimate road trip: starting in Lodi, they made their way up the rugged California and Oregon coast, crossed into Portland, headed down through Yosemite, and continued on to Santa Barbara—before landing, once again, in Monterey, a sentimental favorite.On the final day of the trip, they returned to The Sardine Factory—specifically to The Conservatory, a romantic, glass-domed dining room surrounded by trees and one of the bride’s favorite places. After an unforgettable meal, a sorbet arrived in a crystal ice swan. Nestled inside: a diamond ring. David proposed, and Caitlyn said yes with joyful, tearful enthusiasm. Now, they’re excited to build a life full of adventure, growth, laughter, and love—with each other, and all of you by their side.
