Our Story
How did David and Abigail meet?
What was David and Abigail’s first date?
David and Abigails first date was on December 17, 2023. David took her to look at Christmas lights and they danced under the stars at the display!
(And he promptly ran off to England for 2 weeks!)
How did he propose?
David, Abigail, Russ, and Annette (Abigails parents) were attending the Sight & Sound production of Queen Esther when David leaned over to Abigail during the last song and asked her “will you marry me?”
When the show was over, they went to take pictures in front of the stage and that is when David got down on one knee and asked her again - in front of everyone in the theater!
And of course, she said YES!
Surprised by God!
David, a missionary from England in America, is sent to revive a church in Camdenton, Missouri. Due to life’s circumstances he had come to terms with remaining single and serving the Lord. However, it seems God had other plans.
In 2023, Abigail was growing personally in the Lord, and due to some interesting situations beyond their control, David and Abigail, became good Christian friends. Both of them knew the Lord when they were children, but lost God when they were younger. They both rededicated their lives back to Him as adults.
Abby grew up in a Christian home and was a “preachers’ kid.” Her love for singing, allowed her to compete in choir competitions, and to lead worship in church at age 16. In September, Abby began singing again for the Lord.
David also grew up in a home with good Christian values. From an early age, he wanted to help people, including those that were sick and suffering. Later, after rededicating himself back to the Lord, God called Him to be a minister of the Gospel and to pray for those desiring healing. Currently, he pastors Elim Foursquare, a growing church in Camdenton, Missouri.
Both of them being single, Abby having two children, and being the daughter of one of David’s close friends, they would occasionally do fun things together, like go to a Christian concert or ride roller coasters in Branson! By October they had realized that they had so much in common and similar values that they had become “bestest” friends. However, God had other plans.
On November, 21st, everything changed! While entering “Dicks 5 and 10” store in Branson, God would shake up David’s world. In a spectacular and surprising way, God revealed to David that God might not wish him to stay single and that God has a helpmate for him in the future. David was shocked at what happened… and sought the Lord in prayer and wise counsel from his close friends and ministers.
This was the beginning of a journey of prayer, faith and love, that has been both amazing and beautiful at the same time… and has led to this moment of marriage before God between David and Abigail.
