It was Christmas Day in 2018 when David and Dustin first met. Although Dustin lived in Kelowna, BC, he was home visiting family in Lethbridge. From the moment they met, their connection sparked.

Just a month later, an exciting opportunity presented itself: Dustin was set to perform in the musical Newsies in Kelowna. David didn’t hesitate to seize the chance to see him on stage, and that visit deepened their bond. Their conversations continued to flow effortlessly, bridging the distance between them.

As their relationship grew, Dustin decided to move back to Alberta, further intertwining their lives. The early days were marked by David’s budding business, yet he frequently found excuses to visit Dustin, who was teaching in Cardston. Each visit felt like a mini adventure, and in a gesture of trust and affection, David left his most prized possession, Dobby, with Dustin.

Their little family grew with the arrival of Benson and an energetic puppy, Scarlet. As the world faced the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, it became a time of unexpected togetherness. It brought their pack to Lethbridge to live in The Condo, solidifying their bond and making it clear that their lives were meant to be intertwined in this city. In 2021, they took a significant step forward by purchasing their first home together, a fixer-upper that became a labor of love. The renovation journey tested their handyman skills but also reinforced the strength of their partnership, proving that together, there was nothing they couldn’t overcome.

Their journey took another exciting turn when Dustin was approached by Disney to return to the mainstage on a cruise ship—a significant chapter in his life before David entered the picture. Embracing this opportunity, they set sail on adventures that took them to stunning destinations throughout the Caribbean and Northern Europe. From Mexico and Bermuda to Norway and The Netherlands, each port brought new experiences and deepened their love.

During David's first cruise sailing, amidst the enchantment of Disney, David realized he could not envision a future without Dustin. On the final evening of the voyage, as confetti in the shape of golden Mickeys rained down around them, David led Dustin to the grand staircase of the Disney Dream. It was in this moment, he asked Dustin to spend the rest of his life with him.

Now, as they enter this next stage of their lives, David continues to pursue his entrepreneurial endeavors with Lethbridge Event Rentals, while Dustin has hung up his dance shoes to chase his dream of becoming a nurse. Together, they embrace a future filled with love, adventure, and shared aspirations—ready to write the next beautiful chapters of their story.
