We first met at our favorite place, Ohio University. It was our last night at OU before returning home for winter break and we both decided to stay in Athens an extra night. We met at a mutual friend’s house and hung out all night talking at JBar and have talked ever since. We proceeded to hit it off and bonded over our love for sports, movies, family, and friends.

Over the next few months, we continued to get to know one another and each other’s families and slowly became a big part of each other’s lives. The first 3 years of our relationship were long distance when Mary graduated from OU as David was a grade younger. We would visit one another over that next year trading back and forth between Cleveland and Athens. Once David graduated, he moved to Nashville where he lived for 2 years. We made the most of the time we had together and visited each other as often as we could. Our long-distance came to an end when we both moved to Columbus.

After finally being in the same city, we continued to grow our relationship while enjoying OSU games, golf tournaments, concerts, and trying out new restaurants. David adopted Mary’s love for the Browns and Mary has yet to adopt David’s passion for golf, but she supports it nonetheless.

We decided to make it official on July 29th, 2023, when David proposed at Mary’s Aunt & Uncles’ on their dock overlooking Lake Lanier. This location was extra special to us as 5 years prior David asked Mary to be his girlfriend on the same lake.

We look forward to our life together and are excited for what the future holds. Until then, we will continue to live in the moment, enjoy the little things, and be grateful for all of you, our amazing friends and family!
