It all started with an email…

While that might be what you’d expect from an IT guy, it wasn’t even David that started the email chain.

On November 3rd, 2022, David and Renée joined a start-up Bible Study for young adults that met during Thursday lunch at their place of work, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Members of the Bible Study helped by bringing snacks or goodies. On February 2nd, 2023, Renée, who hadn’t been able to attend that Bible study, sent an email thanking David for dropping by and offering a leftover homemade muffin (that sadly she couldn’t eat) that he had made for the Bible Study snack. After a few back and forth emails, Renée promised to make a batch gluten-free and save some for him to try. Apparently, fulfilling that promise was the sealing moment.

It’s debatable whether the Bible Study and seeing how God was working in both their lives, the email chain, the muffins, or the friend that encouraged David to ask Renée out, really started our relationship. But perhaps that’s because God works in mysterious, and numerous, ways. We couldn’t be happier that God orchestrated all the small details that bring us together today.

Over the past nine months, together we have experienced some of the ups and down that life brings, and each time seen God’s staying hand and our growing love. We are beyond excited to take this next step and begin life together, side-by-side, facing whatever life brings.
