The tale of how Davis and Jessica fell in love begins in the middle of October, 2021. Davis had signed up for the Pasanita Dog Training classes taking place at the Rose Bowl. He would be bringing his nearly one-year-old labrador, Jax, a very good and playful boy.

Jessica, a veteran, would be returning for her second time to dog training. Successfully training her first beagle, Clementine, she decided to bring Poppy, a sweet and shy one-year-old, for round two.

During a break in the first class, Jessica noticed a handsome yellow lab walking past her and Poppy. Jess had to strike up a conversation with the labrador's owner, and Davis and Jess hit it off immediately. (Davis says it is obvious that Jess saw him first and used Jax as an easy icebreaker, but Jess really sticks to her story that she just noticed the dog first.)

Davis began to look forward to Wednesday nights and Jessica would show up early to talk with Davis before class. By the end of November, Davis had struck up the courage to ask Jessica out on date. (Davis insists it only took that long because Jessica missed three classes while traveling to Portugal. Clearly, he was smitten.)

Over the next year, Davis and Jessica spent most of their free time with each other, going on dates such as walking the gardens at the Arboretum, drinking beer at the LA Zoo, eating delicious food in DTLA, spending a weekend in Arrowhead, vacationing at DisneyWorld, and, of course, multiple meetups at the dog park.

Eventually, Davis was promoted and moving to Ventura. Things had been going so well and it was obvious to him that they should be together, so he asked Jess to move in with him.

She said no.

Jess did, however, make the drive from Pasadena to Ventura countless times and Davis & Jessica spent the next year together splitting time between their two homes.

When Davis took a new job at a tech company in the Bay Area in July of 2023, he asked Jessica to move with him.

This time, she said yes. (It took her long enough.) Davis and Jess, along with their three dogs, moved to San Mateo and began their new chapter in Northern California.

On the most beautiful and perfect February weekend, Davis took Jess on a wine tasting trip in Napa Valley. They went to a winery called Chimney Rock and attended a wine tasting. After the tasting, Davis led Jessica on a private walk through the vineyards, away from other guests. Once they were alone, Davis got down on one knee and asked Jessica to marry him. Jess said yes immediately. (She said YES! before he could even ask the actual question.)
