For those of you coming from outside of Peru, we encourage you to start booking your flights to Peru as soon as you can. Cheap flights can be found at kiwi.com or eyeing Google Flights. Most flights from North America will land you in Lima first. Depending on the time that you have, you can either opt for a connecting flight to Cusco or stay a couple of days in Lima. Lima is not for everyone but if you consider yourself a big foodie, Lima has some of the best restaurants in the world and we encourage you to check some of them out! See 'Lima' tab above.
When you get to the Jorge Chavez Airport in Lima, please do not take an outside taxi nor use Uber (there's no official spot for them so is difficult to find your driver). Instead, just after customs, go with the official taxis inside the airport, who will be at various booths. Once you're in Lima or in Cusco, Uber is perfectly fine and recommended to use! Never take a street taxi.
