When Samantha was a little girl she had a school project to create a poster of things she liked. While other kids might have chosen toys or favorite cartoons, Samantha asked for photos of beautiful smiles. I remember sitting with her, cutting out smiles from magazines and gluing them to her cardboard. That moment was so pure, so uniquely her. She has always had the biggest, brightest smile.. If I had been the one making the poster, hers is the smile I would have chosen. Samantha isn’t just my sister- she’s been my inspiration. Her energy and light have carried me through some of the hardest times in my life. During deployments, I knew she was on the other side of the world, thinking of me and needing me to be strong. She gave me the strength to keep pushing forward when it felt impossible. She’s always had this incredible way of making me feel confident and beautiful, even when I didn’t see it in myself. She’s the one who taught me how to braid my hair perfectly within Navy regulations. This was a small act that made me feel polished and put together in moments when I desperately needed it. I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve gotten on my braids over the years, but every single one of them belongs to Samantha. WARNING: She may not be the best at karaoke, but she can rap like no one else. I’m so excited to share this talent with everyone on our wedding day, and I know she’ll bring those "good vibes" with her, the chill attitude that’s always made everyone around her feel at ease, and, of course, that brutal honesty that ensures I look and feel my best. Having her as my Maid of Honor isn’t just about tradition or filling a spot in the wedding party. It’s about honoring our deep emotional connection we share, a bond built on love, motivation to be my best, and countless moments where she’s shown me how to see the beauty in myself and the world around me. Becky has been a constant source of support and guidance in Dawns life. From helping her study for First Class Petty Officer to providing advice on buying Lance and Dawns first home, she’s always been there to make Dawn a better version of herself, both personally and professionally. Her calm, organized, and attentive nature makes her the perfect person to ensure everything goes exactly as planned on their wedding day. They have shared so many special moments together, from being stationed in Japan together, Hawaii, and to now living just two minutes apart. Their nine years of friendship mean the world to Dawn, and having Becky by her side as her Maid of Honor is an honor she will always hold dear.

Catherine, or "Luu Cat," has been a cornerstone in Dawns life since they were stationed together in Hawaii onboard DDG 110 WPL in 2019. As an Aviation Ordinancemen, she’s truly "the bomb." Catherine has two daughters who Dawn loves as her own. Just as Dawn was there for Catherine to Marry her husband, Marquise, Catherine will now be in the bridal party for Dawn and Lances wedding. A memory that stands out most is waking up at 4 a.m. consistently to lift during deployment. She’s an amazing Mother, mentor, and Sailor, and Dawn couldn’t imagine having the most emotional day of her life without her by my side. Catherine has always been there to balance Dawns mindset, and her strength and support mean the world to her.

Brooke is Lance’s younger sister, and from the moment Dawn met her at Thanksgiving, they instantly connected. Their bond deepened during a visit when Brooke came down to spend time with Lance. They went for a drive to grab some tea, and three hours and a three-course meal later, Dawn knew that her relationship with Brooke was special and much deeper than just through Lance. Brooke has a natural ability to make any space feel more like home, and she’s the perfect person to kick off a game night. Not to mention, Brooke has a beautiful voice. She is also a talented pastry chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant in D.C., and her culinary skills never fail to impress. Beyond her passion for baking, karaoke skills, and a loving heart, she is also a fur mama to her cat, Daisy. Dawn is thrilled to have Brooke by her side on the wedding day, not only because she’s family but because of the genuine, meaningful connection they've built over time.

Amber and Dawn’s friendship blossomed during their time in Hawaii, where they island-hopped together, exploring the beauty of the islands. They were often found grabbing boba, sushi, and ramen, sharing laughter and playlists in the car. (Her music is top tier by the way- get ready to dance the day of the Wedding). unforgettable moments. In 2022, Dawn attended her first country concert with Amber, marking yet another special memory. Whether they were hanging out at the house, watching movies, or enjoying spa days, their bond has only grown stronger over the years, filled with joy and adventure.

Isamar and Dawn have been best friends since high school. Both are from Joliet, Illinois -where they shared countless memories running on the trail across from where Dawn grew up. Their bond grew stronger in ROTC and drama class, where they truly began to understand each other’s personalities. Isamars drive to join the Navy also inspired Dawn when they both graduated from Highschool. Isa is not only a pro at makeup and lashes, but she also carries an infectious positive attitude and a determined mindset that Dawn deeply admires. Throughout their friendship, Isa has always been there to remind Dawn of her roots, especially when she’s felt far from home. Although they don't see each other often, whenever they do it is as if there was no gap in time. Isamar was prior Navy, Aviation Ordinance 2nd Class, and is now in the Airforce Reserves, living only 30 minutes away from Dawn and Lance.

Courtney has been a true friend to Dawn and Lance. She has witnessed the growth of her relationship with Lance from double dates to helping with moves. She’s bubbly, incredibly energetic, and always brings a vibrant, positive energy to every room. Her attention to detail and precision with time management is unmatched, making her a wonderful friend. Courtney shares a beautiful relationship with her husband, Dustin, who is also part of Lance’s wedding party. Together, they’ve formed a close bond with Dawn and Lance, and the two couples have spent memorable times together. One of their most cherished memories is celebrating New Year’s together—during which deep and meaningful conversations laid the foundation for a friendship that would only continue to grow. Living in North Carolina with her dog, Courtney is an event coordinator whose exceptional work ethic shines in everything she does. Dawn feels truly blessed to have Courtney by her side on her wedding day, knowing she’ll bring not only a bubbly spirit but also her amazing attention to detail to ensure everything runs smoothly. We are so excited for everyone to meet her!

Dawn and Dorine hit it off right away while pulling their first ship into the dock, choosing to laugh about their new life on the ship instead of letting the reality of the culture shock and being away from home get to them. Despite the challenges, they made unforgettable memories in Japan, from enjoying their favorite Thai food and sushi at the local spots to indulging in girls' days out in Tokyo and Yokohama. During their time onboard USS Ronald Reagan CVN 76, they made time to always catch up together. (At one point, Dorine literally worked for Dawn doing the Lawds work. Thank you Seaman Yang). Dorine has been a steady source of support in Dawn's life, holding her accountable when structure was needed, but also giving her the freedom to explore who she truly was without fear of judgment. Through all of it, Dorine accepted Dawn for who she was, embracing every quirk and personality trait. Today, Dorine and Dawn live just two minutes apart, continuing to create new memories together. When not glamming up or getting cozy, Dorine brings her effortless charm and authenticity.

Chris went to school with Lance at Saint Michael's College. A US Marine and Vermont Army National Guard Vet, Chris has been a significant part of Lance's life as an advisor, confidante, and friend. As far as lifelong friends go, Chris is at the top of the list. He and his wife Beth continue to host Dawn and Lance every year for a Friends-giving around the holidays. Both LMSWs, Lance and Chris have personal and professional interests in the work they do with clients. Important to note that if you asked Lance's mom, Chris got his degree from Columbia while Lance went to Boston University which makes Chris superior, of course. Colleen went to school with Lance at Saint Michael's College. She and Lance were always amicable and had fun within the same friend groups and their friendship grew after graduation. Also a practitioner in mental health, Colleen and Lance share similar views on approaching mental health and often lean on each other for support in life. While their connection is younger in age, it has flourished fully and extended to include Dawn as well. Colleen is another supporter, confidante, and friend to Lance that will spend hours in video game world's with him on any given night.

Dustin has been a coworker and friend to Lance over the last few years. Dustin is also a member of the National Guard and has played a pinnacle role in Lance's life as a friend and mentor. He and Lance have shared many drinks and meals solving the problems of their workplaces and of the world. He became a quick and lifelong friend of Lance during Lance's time in DC. Dustin's wife Courtney is also a Bridesmaid in Dawn's party.

Nathaniel is also Lance's cousin and Corey's younger brother. Nathaniel and Lance have a lot of similar personality traits that have led to a flourishing friendship with National Park and outdoor travels. Nathaniel being a part of Lance's wedding party was nothing short of expected.

Corey is Lance's oldest Cousin on the Nadeau side. They grew up together and were in the same year of school, constantly playing against each other in sports from rival towns (admittedly, he was better than Lance). Corey has been a consistent part of Lance's life and it is part of the full circle event that Lance was the flower-man of his wedding, and now he is a groomsman for Lance.

Alex is another Saint Michael's College friend of Lance's. He and Lance became friends as Residential Life Staff members together and have remained close to this day. Those who know AD, know that he is someone who always speaks his mind and for Lance, it is one of his favorite qualities in his friend.

Michael and Lance have worked together in the Office of the Army National Guard Chief Surgeon for the last few years. Michael has been a consistent mentor for Lance over the last few years. Mike has been a family friend to both Lance and Dawn and can vouch for the love they share.

Gus is probably the latest addition of Lance's friend-ology and they have quickly developed a strong connection. Gus also works with Lance and is in the US Army. He is a brilliant mind, with an enduring work ethic. He and Lance share a lot of opinions on their work and future ideals.
