We both agree forces larger than ourselves were in "charge" of our encounter. Todd nor I were even remotely looking for love or waiting for it to come along. The song by INKS, Never Tear Us Apart, accurately describes our experience when it states, "two worlds collided." Individually we both have experienced losses and overcome obstacles in life that would leave most bitter, resentful, and closed off to the possibility of finding and experiencing the gift of deep connection and love. We both feel life is too short to not be lived to its fullest and we weren't willing to disregard the gift being offered to us. We consider ourselves incredibly lucky! Through fate, stars, or whatever divine intervention may have been at work, we found each other and as it's been said, "the rest is history" and our story began. The quote by Thomas Merton expresses it best.
