Our Wedding

Dawson and Kenna met in high school, as friends. In college, Dawson and Kenna went on a couple dates. Because of distance, it didn’t work out, but the feelings never went away. Two years later, Dawson reached out to Kenna and the fire was rekindled. After the first time hanging out, for the second time, Kenna knew that Dawson was the one. After a month, Kenna and Dawson made it official. The following year and a half were filled with endless trips for frozen yogurt, lots of card games and Catan, watching football, being with family, driving to and from Cedar Falls and Sioux City, and of course, growing in love. After Dawson graduated and concluded his final year at UNI football, he moved home to close the distance. In January of 2025, Dawson and Kenna welcomed their dog, Mac, into the family. Kenna is finishing her masters degree in clinical mental health counseling and Dawson is working at the family business.

Our Story

Dawson had been planning the day for a couple months, no knowledge to Kenna. The day of, Kenna spent the day counseling while Dawson was building the cross and setting up in the location. Dawson had told Kenna that they were going on a date but they had to check out a work location beforehand, so Kenna was rushed to get ready quickly. As they headed to the “work” location Dawson was becoming nervous. Once they arrived, Dawson got out to enjoy the view and encouraged Kenna to do the same, but Kenna was worried about getting to the reservation late. Finally, Kenna agreed to enjoy the view too. Little did she know that behind the big tree was a cross and Dawson getting ready on a knee!
