Ava and I met in early high school at Lewis and Clark where we shared the same friend group. We started talking towards the end of the 2016 school year and, although we were not allowed to be boyfriend and girlfriend (thanks Jim), we remained very close.

I left to college in 2017 and Ava had a year left of high school so for the most part we went our separate ways, or so we thought. Having the same friends at home meant we were together every Thanksgiving, Christmas, summer and we continued to run back into each other.

Come senior year of college for me, I reached out to Ava and we started to talk a bit more and more. The next part is up for discussion: Ava took her spring break trip to San Diego, claiming it was random. While I think it was a plan of hers because from the second her plane touched down, we spent almost every second together.

Over the next few months we started to figure out how the heck we would do long distance and make any of this work. Luckily we figure it out, and the rest was history :)
