IMPORTANT:We have learnt that the annual Danby Show day clashes with our wedding... Yeah, on a Wednesday!! We have been in touch with the venue to find out how that may impact the area. They have advised to expect traffic and set off earlier than planned. There isn't usually any road closures for the event, but they will update us on that if anything changes.

Wedding days can be long, overwhelming and/or boring for little ones! We don't take offense! We'll be adding any available games or activities to this page to help prepare them for the day! You're also more than welcome to bring along your own toys if needed.

You've met us before, but today is the wedding day of Matt and Dayna!

The Wedding of Matt & Dayna

The wedding will be at Danby Castle! It doesn't look much like a castle, more of a barn! You might see sheep on your journey and Danby Castle is close to the seaside! If you get time, have a quick look around the venue before the ceremony starts!

Welcome to Danby Castle!

Before the ceremony starts, you'll sit down with your family ready to watch! Matt will be stood at the front with his brother and best man, Dan! The bridesmaids will walk up the aisle, followed by the bride, Dayna. The registrar will talk and we will listen to what they say. At the end, we all cheer and then head outside again.

The Wedding Ceremony

When we're outside, everyone will stand at the bottom of the stairs and as Matt and Dayna come down and walk through everyone, you can grab some confetti (petals) and throw it over them to make it look like it's snowing!! But you don't have to if you don't want to. There will also be bubbles if you'd prefer to blow those instead!

Confetti Time!

There will be an extra special guest at the wedding, Matt and Dayna's dog Skye (like on Paw Patrol!) Skye is a lovely, funny dog that loves to sit down for treats and strokes. You need to be careful around dogs that you don't know. Instead of running up to Skye, you will need to ask Skye to come to you. She loves it when you stroke her back and if you ask Matt or Dayna, you can give her a treat and we'll show you how to get her to sit!

Special Guest

After we've thrown the confetti (petals) the waiters and waitresses will start coming around with 'canapes' (adult snacks) and there will be drinks. You might not like the grown up snacks, so there will be some children's snacks too.

Snack Time

There will be a string trio (three people playing instruments) after the ceremony. See if you can guess any of the tunes they play!

Ebor String Quartet (Trio)

There will be some games for you to enjoy, such as the Mr &amp; Mrs Cornhole where you take turns throwing little bean bags into the holes!

Lawn Games

There will be a cosy area to read a selection of wedding, disney and more children's stories.

Story Corner

It's not really 'breakfast!' When it's time to have lunch, we will go into the barn (different from the ceremony room). There will be dinner tables and you will sit with your parents. First there will be 'speeches' where Matt and Dan will take turns to stand up and speak. Then our food will be brought to the tables! Our youngest bridesmaid, Lottie has made some great choices for the children's menu. There will be garlic bread, cheese and tomato pasta bake and chocolate brownie with ice cream!!! Yummy!! Any allergies will be catered for.

Wedding Breakfast

There will be mark making tools, paper and colourful clay for designing your own models. You can take your pictures and models home and if you make spares, we would love it if you could make something for us to take home too!

Crafty Activities

Don't forget to bring your best smiles and silly faces as there will be a photo booth for you to take some nice and funny photos with family!

Photo Booth

Matt and Dayna will cut the wedding cake and then you will be able to try some later! There's lemon or salted caramel cake to choose from. More people might start arriving at the venue now.

The DJ arrives and starts playing dance music!

Time to Boogie!

At 8pm, pizza will be served along with the wedding cake! If you are planning to leave before then, please let us know and we'll prepare cake for you to take with you.

Pizza & Cake

After a long, busy day, it will be time to go back to your holiday room (or home) to bed. You can dream about all of the fun you had and what you experienced today! You may want to take photos of you to nursery or school to show your friends and teachers how you spent the day!
