Jon and I met six years ago in passing at a mutual friend's house. Four years later, we reconnected at a community group through my church. Unbeknownst to both Jon and I, our friend Rachel and my sister Kayla were coordinating back and forth about how they could get us together. (I found this out the next year!)
Jon's kind nature and warmth attracted me instantly. He was never the loudest one in the group, but instead extremely intentional in one-on-one conversations. One night we were talking after group and we connected over our love for our dogs. The rest is history.
Some of my favorite aspects of Jon include his thoughtfulness, care, and compassion. He specifically looks for things I enjoy to do and will plan events accordingly, even if that means he puts on a pair of skates to figure skate! And lets be honest, it would not have worked out if he did not love Corgis as well! Above all, he is a strong Christian who is not swayed by the ways of this world. He is steadfast, trustworthy, and honest. My parents always say he "set the bar high" and they are 100% right.
I am so thankful our paths realigned and I can't imagine my life without him! - Dayna
Dayna and I crossed paths twice over the years, but it was the third time that was the charm. Our friend Rachel brought me to a church community group where I met Dayna again and we quickly bonded over our mutual love for dogs and sharing photos of our pets. I could tell immediately from talking with Dayna that she had a very kind and tender heart, and that she had an amazing sense of humor.
I got her number in a not-so subtle way by telling her I could text her a picture of my dog back home in California, and very quickly we would spend each day texting each other, and my heart would skip a beat every time I saw her pop up on my phone. Very soon after, we had our first date and it has been an incredible adventure since then!
I could go on and on about what I love about Dayna, but very simply put, her love for Jesus sets the foundation for everything that is great about her. She is always compassionate and caring, and after a long day of work I can always count on her to lend an ear and make me laugh. She has such a heart for serving and giving to others, and this has really been reflected with how she has made my new house home with all its beautiful decorations!
Our story is a true testament to God's perfect planning and I am beyond excited to see what is in store for us! - Jon
