It started with a swipe but it was not long until Deanna and Charlie had swept each other off their feet. They both swept right on the dating app Bumble which requires the girl to message first. That was very convenient for Charlie, a man of few words but little did he know when he received a simple message of “Hey, what’s up, youre cute!?” it would change his life. After a few messages back and forth they both agreed to meet up in-person for drinks.

Although they grew up in different parts of the Philadelphia area, they quickly realized they had some mutual friends in common and the awkwardness of meeting online was put to rest. They continued to take it slow and get to each other better. Then COVID happened and dinner and drinks had transitioned from restaurants in the city to Netflix movies and wine on Deanna’s couch. During quarantine, their relationship continued to grow as they spent more time together as a couple. Deanna was gracious and welcoming, inviting Charlie to her rooftop pool where she introduced him to some of her friends. For Deanna it took a couple more months before she met Charlie’s family and friends, but she fit in seamlessly leaving some to wonder why he had been hiding her for so long.

As life continued on and their relationship continued to get stronger Deanna and Charlie decided to move in together. They found a nice little house which had enough space for them to continue to work from home and store all of Deanna’s Christmas decorations. After a year of living together and figuring out each other’s quirks, Charlie decided that this was the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

They booked a long weekend in Annapolis for what Deanna thought was just going to be a low-key and relaxing weekend which it was until Charlie popped the question on Saturday evening. Upon returning to Philadelphia, Charlie has organized friends and family to surprise Deanna at their local watering hole. Within the next few days, Deanna began to scout out venues in the Philadelphia area which were available to host a wedding on New Year’s Eve 2023. We are so excited to continue our love story in a few short months. This is only chapter one!
