Our Wedding

We actually met at a mutual friend’s engagement party! We later found out that we went to the same college, and even stayed in the same apartment complex right off of campus one year, even on the same floor just opposite sides! We have no idea if we ever actually ran into each other, but I guess our time was coming, we just didn’t know it! We ended up dating long distance for a year while I finished my Masters degree in Chattanooga. Once we both lived in the same area, the rest is history! The engagement happened on a trip with some of Brandon‘s family in Hawaii! Everyone told me before the trip that he was definitely proposing. However, I was not convinced he had even bought a ring yet so there was no way. There were apparently multiple failed attempts of the proposal, but the whole family played everything off so well, I had no idea any of it was even going to happen. We ended up going to a little beach, close to where we were staying in Hawaii, to take family photos. Since it was Father’s Day, and there were multiple fathers on the trip, I had no reason to feel like it was weird to go and take pictures. I actually took everyone’s photos first, and then they offered to take mine and Brandon‘s picture. After we took a few regular pictures, I had to look at the picture to make sure it was good (as one does lol). When I turned back around to go take another picture, he was down on one knee! I had always said that there was no way I was going to cry at the proposal because I was sure I would know it was coming. However, since I clearly had no idea, I bawled like a baby. Brandon and I both somewhat blacked out during the moment because of all of the adrenaline and we honestly don’t even remember his full speech. I obviously said YES and it just made the trip even more magical. Brandon had actually set it up to where both sides of our families that weren’t on the trip, were on FaceTime to get to see the whole thing! You can only imagine how difficult that was with a five hour time difference. It was the best trip EVER 💍
