I received a group message from Ben, Daniel's brother as well as my cousin-in-law, inviting a small group of people to a New Years' Eve party.

At the New Years' Eve party, I knew about five people: Ben, Haley, precious little Ahna, Gabby, and my ride to the party. It was a fun night of Jack Box games, card games, and delicious foods. Of course there was also playing with the puppers there, meeting new people, the fun stuff. Daniel had work late that night so he had been sleeping in a back room. He eventually came out of the room, sleepy eyed, and the both of us knew we were in trouble. We spoke maybe a handful of words to each other, but I didn't get to stay long after that.

Over the next several days I was hoping I'd get a message from him because I couldn't remember his name- the ball had to be in his court.

I'd checked and checked and checked, but I thought maybe I was wrong and I'd just never see him again... until I remembered I had two Facebooks! I quickly (yes, I was desperate) swapped over to my other Facebook and found a friend request from the man himself, my beautiful Daniel, and I knew it wasn't just me.

Daniel and I stayed up all night, talking from 7 PM to 5 AM. At 3 PM on January 17th, we had our first date. We were inseparable for a couple of weeks until I got scared, and it was almost time for him to leave for an out-of-state job.

After a couple of months of occasionally checking on each other and having a heart-to-heart, I realized I could not lose him, that I loved him too much and while I didn't need to be cared for, there was nothing wrong with allowing this man that I loved to love me back. We started talking, nonstop, for about a week and a half until he got back from working in Sikeston.

Daniel left Sikeston and immediately came to me. We went on a few dates, but they never really ended! We've been by each other's side ever since, even going on a few road trips, with only a few jobs separating us here and there.

Daniel proposed to me on Pensacola Beach after taking me to a steakhouse where we stayed, laughing until closing time. We walked along the beach for a while, felt the salty air blowing on us, listened to the waves crashing, looked for a few crabs, and gushed about how excited we both were.
