Charles and Debra met in 2005 while being assigned to US Transportation Command on Scott Air Force Base (AFB), IL. During this time, and similar to the annual Army versus Navy football game, they had a competitive relationship that over time developed into mutual respect for each other.

After Debra left Scott AFB, the rivals remained in contact over the years, and to their surprise the relationship blossomed into friendship. The friends would check in with each other from time to time and would often talk to each other for hours. Charles would provide expert advice about Debra’s current boyfriend situation and Debra would provide comedic relief to Charles’ daily life.

On December 10, 2022, after the Army destroyed the Navy for their annual football game, Charles decided he would take a trip to South Carolina the next month to see his friend. During the visit, the friends caught up and had a great time attending a USC Women’s basketball game, going to the movies to see House Party 3 (don't judge us...LOL), eating at various restaurants, and going to a church service.

It was after that visit (and some soul searching) the friends decided that they should consider a much deeper level to their relationship. Since then, they’ve spent their time exploring new truths about each other (who knew a Sailor couldn’t swim....LOL) and creating new experiences.
