It all started in the most unexpected place: the spirits closet at Super Saver. Ali and Dehvynne would sneak in some quality conversation time during his lunch break while she covered the counter. Those little chats quickly became the highlight of their day. Of course, they needed a totally legitimate reason to hang out more—enter the Mega Meat Man video project on UNL’s campus. Sure, it was technically for work... but mostly, it was just an excuse to be around each other and laugh a lot in the process. Their first “not-a-date” date was at Highway Diner. Dehvynne had loaned Ali her laptop so he could finish editing their video, and he insisted on repaying the favor with dinner. It was casual, lowkey, and just right—and even if they weren’t saying it out loud yet, they both knew something special had started.

After weeks of flirty hallway run-ins and not-so-subtle excuses to hang out, Ali and Dehvynne finally went on their first real date at The Venue in Lincoln. They were nervous, excited, and already a little smitten. Ali drank seven glasses of water (yes, seven), and Dehvynne was too nervous to eat a single thing. Classic first date energy. Not long after, they took a trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo—where they snapped their very first photo together. In 2020, Ali and Dehvynne graduated from UNL—side by side, full of dreams, nerves, and a healthy dose of "what now?" The world was changing fast, and so were they. As they stepped into their careers and tried to figure out this whole adulting thing, they cheered each other on through every twist, turn, and late-night meltdown. They didn’t just grow—they grew together, and that made all the difference.

In the early days, Ali and Dehvynne were always out exploring—trying new restaurants, making memories at the zoo, and wandering anywhere that sounded fun (or had good snacks). Somewhere along the way, they discovered a shared love for hiking, and their adventures started taking them off the beaten path—literally. Whether it was a scenic trail or a late-night taco run, every outing turned into a favorite story, and every favorite story brought them closer.

During part of the pandemic, Ali and Dehvynne hunkered down in her tiny studio apartment—just the two of them, a whole lot of ramen, and barely enough space to turn around. It was cramped, a little chaotic, and full of weird snacks and Netflix marathons. But somehow, it worked. If they could thrive in 400 square feet during a global crisis, they figured they could handle just about anything together.

In the summer of 2021, Ali and Dehvynne took the next big step—they moved in together and made their first home. It didn’t take long for the space to feel just right… especially once they brought home their little ball of chaos and cuddles: Mr. Bric. From lazy weekend mornings to late-night cat zoomies, their home quickly filled with laughter, love, and a whole lot of fur. And honestly? They wouldn’t have it any other way.

Roca Berry Farm has been one of Ali and Dehvynne’s favorite traditions since the very beginning—almost every fall, they’ve wandered hand-in-hand through corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and caramel apple stands. It’s their favorite season, their favorite place… and now, it’s where they’ll say “I do.” This October, they’re turning years of sweet, silly, cozy memories into the start of forever.

On a trip to Colorado with friends, Ali and Dehvynne discovered just how much they love hiking those stunning mountain trails. Surrounded by golden aspens, crisp autumn air, and views that didn’t even look real, they spent the day laughing, exploring, and soaking it all in side by side. It was one of those perfect days—the kind that makes you fall even more in love… with the mountains, the moment, and most of all, each other.

After two hours of fake proposals on a hike in Colorado, he finally popped the real question at Emerald Lake in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. They were back in Colorado, hiking together again—right where they felt happiest. Both nervous, excited, and overflowing with love, the moment couldn’t have been more perfect. With green water glistening, sunshine pouring down, and jaw-dropping views all around, Ali asked—and Dehvynne said yes without a second thought.

After everything they’ve shared—from hikes to proposals, to growing together—they’re now counting down the days to their wedding on October 18, 2025.
