If you ask Sean: I can’t remember the exact time we met, but my first memory of Delaney was scarring. It was freshman year, and my friends from across the hall were having some of their high school friends over. Next thing I know, Delaney is winning a ping pong tournament and forcing us to watch the Toxic Avenger as her reward. Immediately after turning it on, she proceeded to leave, with me stuck behind watching horrifying B movie from the 80s. I’m still recovering to this day. I tried to forget this moment in time, but I’m forced to relive this memory as Delaney happens to transfer to Ohio State. Luckily this was just one road bump on what has been the best journey imaginable. We developed a close friendship throughout college and made some of my best memories together. From tea time at Zen Cha to Delaney forcing all of our friends to create a haunted house, there was never a dull moment. Delaney moved off to Boston after grad school, and we kept in touch, but I feared our friendship was over when she invited my roommate to visit but not me (she claims it was because I wouldn’t have paid to come visit, and while she is correct, I’m still offended). As the bigger person in our relationship, I was able to forgive and forget, and when she moved back to Columbus after Boston, we became closer and one thing led to another and we eventually started dating. It’s been the happiest four and a half years of my life getting to share this time with Delaney. Getting to know more about her and all of the people in her life has been wonderful and the adventures we’ve gone have been more than I could have ever hoped for. I can’t wait for more adventures in the future, and I especially can’t wait to marry her! If you ask Delaney: In fall of 2014, Sean and I met at Ohio State University (I was a freshman at Miami University of Ohio and visited most weekends). He lived across the hall from my best friends so I met him within the first month of starting college! My first memory is playing him in a ping-pong tournament in my friend's dorm. Winner got to choose the movie we watched that night. I somehow ended up winning and chose "The Toxic Avenger" which is a horror/comedy from the 80's. Sean wasn't happy about this given that he rarely watches movies with an IMBD score lower than 6.5. I stayed for maybe the first 10 minutes of the movie before leaving (lol sorry Sean). In 2015, I ended up transfering from Miami of Ohio to Ohio State as a sophmore. Sean and I were in the same friend group which means we tailgated together and were in the same section for football games. I quickly realized how everyone adored him and how he was truly such a fun person to be around. By the end of sophmore year, Sean became one of my best friends at OSU and honestly was the reason I loved college so much. He went all out for our halloween parties and murder mystery parties and I LOVE when people commit to dressing up and stay in character. After college, we both went our separate ways and were in relationships with other people. I moved away to Boston for graduate school for a few years while Sean started his career in software development in Columbus. We remained friends once I moved away and I would text him here and there to ask for help with random things like fixing the printer in the graduate lounge (he told me he doesn't know how to fix things like that) or he would reach out to ask what murder mystery game is the best to play with his friends from home. Fast forward to 2021, I was back in Columbus, single and living with my best friend/ maid of honor! Sean was also single and was living in the city so we started spending time together again. We both were on the dating apps but I quickly realized I'd rather spend my time dating him (I think he thought the same). SOOO Sean and I finally got the timing right and decided to take a risk and date after 7 years of best friendship. Look at us now!

German Village is a historic neighborhood just south of Downtown Columbus that just begs to be explored on foot! It’s one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Columbus with cobblestone streets, a gorgeous city park and amazing restaurants! Be sure to check out Staufs coffee and pop into the Book Loft next door! Fox in the Snow is also a must if you are looking for pastries, coffee, and the world's best breakfast sandwich OR hit up Pistacia Vera if you are in the mood for more French-inspired pastries!
