Braden and I met in 2021 at the beginning of Spring semester our freshman year in college. I was in the dorm building right next to his. One evening I was walking to my car when I was stopped by a mutual friend that I’ve known since middle school. She was on the phone with Braden, who was looking down from his window. She had him on speaker phone and she told me to say hi to him. I said hi and headed on my way. At the time I didn’t give it a second thought.
Two weeks later I found him on instagram, not long after we started talking and hanging out as friends. One night we sat outside on the hammocks in front of the dorms for two hours in the freezing cold talking. We laugh now when we talk about how I invited him to come see me at work. I didn’t think that he would show up but what a blessing that he did. That night he wasn’t sure if I was interested in him because I was so shy. The next day Braden decided to take a chance and asked me on a date. We went to ihop and ate breakfast one morning. I will forever be grateful he took that chance, we became official on 1/29/2021. On 12/16/2023 he asked me to go with him to Tulsa to take Christmas pictures. I was so shocked and excited when he got down on one knee during those photos and asked me to be his wife. I could not have asked for a more perfect proposal.
Through these last three years we have fallen more in love with each other and have been on so many adventures with each other. We have been there for each other when life was tough and hard. We are each other’s rocks and biggest supporters. College was hard at times but with each other’s help we got through it. We both graduated this July and are so excited to be married in front of our friends and family in October. We are looking forward spending the rest of our lives together making memories and growing as a couple.
