A lot of people ask us if we are high school sweethearts, but the answer is no... not really. Matt and I went to the same middle school and high school so we have known each other for about 9 years now. We had a few classes here and there together, but we didn't talk much. Although, I do remember Matt making me laugh in math class when he sat in front of me. I thought to myself, "He's kinda cute!", and having the same sense of humor as him was of course a big plus.

Once we graduated high school in the midst of the pandemic, we both went our ways. Fast forward to about a year later, we suddenly reconnected. Matt and I both had some friends in separate friend groups that intertwined. Not long after, we started to realize there was a spark there. With every date, we grew closer and closer to one another. We quickly became inseparable best friends and then each others partner. Who knew we were looking for the one that was right in front of us all along?

On September 17th, 2023, Matthew proposed to me. We had set up a 2 year dating anniversary photoshoot to celebrate and finally get some good pictures. We had two outfits planned. A casual and a fancy. Matt kept asking me "Can we start with the fancy?" and I would immediately say "No I want to do the casual first and then the fancy when the sun starts to set!". Little did I know this boy was nervous as heck haha. I remember thinking that Matt seemed a little nervous throughout the shoot but I just thought he was maybe camera shy or something. Once we finally changed into our fancy outfits, we posed for some more photos. Then, I was prompted to turn my back to him and on the count of 3, give him a big bear hug. I still had NO idea. Right as I turned around with a big ol' smile on my face, Matt was on one knee and asked me to be his forever.

Matt and I have been through a lot together but what I can confidently say is that we have always been there for one another. We are such a great team throughout all of life's twists and turns. Today, we have 2 cats together and live out of state in Utah where we created our own spot. We are so beyond excited for our big day and our future ahead.
