Cody and Denali both attended Central College in Pella, IA and both recieved a major in Vocal Music Education. They originally met August 22, 2018 during Denali's first Central College A Cappella Choir experience. In which Cody told her "I will never remember your name."

Denali and Cody started talking on Halloween in 2018. Denali asked for his snapchat that day, and they started talking the next day. The majority of their beginning conversations were disagreements about when to decorate for Christmas.

First Official Date: Dinner and a Movie El Charro Mexican Grill and "Ralph Breaks the Internet" at the Pella Cinema.

Denali traveled to Iowa for a band tour and, on the way, met Cody's friends and family.

First Easter together. This was one of the first times Denali had met Cody's family.

Denali and Cody finished their 1st and 2nd year of college together. During this first summer they were learning how to work long-distance as Denali had to go back to Colorado and Cody was staying in Iowa. A lot of this summer consisted of late night video chats and phone calls.

Cody visited Colorado for the first time to meet Denali's family.

Started year 2 and 3 of college together

Cody and Denali took their first sporadic trip and vaction together. On the way to Wisconsin they happened to stop in their future town of Dubuque, IA

Cody traveled to Colorado again. During this trip Denali took him to some of her favorite places and introduced him to more family members.

Quarantine started... Spring break lasted a lot longer than originally expected. During this time, Denali ended up moving in with Cody and his parents. They continued taking classes online and really started to figure out what living together and being with each other all the time might look like. Many of these next few months were spent watching shows together, playing games, taking walks, and learning more and more about each other.

Denali and Cody welcomed their "first child" Rolo into their family.

Started year 3 and 4 of college together

Cody and Denali had their first of many family photos taken. On this day, Karina and Zach got engaged, and everybody was very happy to welcome five new members to the family!

Cody and Denali celebrated their first Christmas together.

Both finished their 3rd and 4th year of college. During this summer, Cody and Denali (and Rolo) lived at a cousin's house while they continued to take summer courses.

Started year 4 and 5 of college

Cody and Denali shared a senior recital date. Denali ended up singing a surprise song about begging for a proposal and surprised cody by bringing him on stage. Little did she know that in 2 more days Cody had actually planned on proposing.

Cody proposed to Denali in Douwstra Auditorium where they first met.

Second Christmas spent together as a family.

They welcomed their second "child" Theo into their family.

Cody and Denali Graduated from Central College together.

Cody and Denali traveled out of the country together. They traveled to Argentina with the Central College Acappella Choir. Together, they explored the cities of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Iguazú, and Bariloche.

Bought their first house together in Dubuque, Iowa, for their new jobs

Denali's childhood cat, Cutie, moved in and officially joined their family.

Both Cody and Denali started teaching in Dubuque Community School District. Cody started teaching at Jefferson Middle School as their general music and choir teacher. Denali started teaching at Marshall Elementary School as the K-5 music teacher.

4th Christmas spent together

Their nephew Leon was welcomed into the world. He has been great practice for preparing them for their own kids 😂

They made another large purchase together and bought a new car for Denali to drive.

After being engaged for 1 1/2 years Cody and Denali finally got their engagement photos done

They welcomed their newest addition/child Reese into their family.

They both started year two as teachers
