We started dating back in 1988, way back then. Life happened and we parted ways until a chance meeting when my daughter, Charleigh, and I came back home when my dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2018.
At a local gas station, minding my own business, I look over the pumps and see a set of beautiful, familiar eyes… just his eyes looking at me from above the pump. It was the best hug I’ve had in many years!!
Well, the housing market turned sour as dad was having a lot of medical issues, so a move back to IL happened. He kept Charleigh for me while I visited dad in the hospital, showed us the best places to Trick or Treat, came with me to the hospital to see dad and be a support not just for me but my family… and a relationship was rekindled after 30 years apart. I’m his “Old Flame” and “he’s my lobster”.
