Derek and I first met at the VFW in Roscoe, Illinois. We had our first date scheduled for July 1st 2020. I remember it like it was yesterday. I actually bailed on our date because my sister was going to be in town. I ended up showing up at the VFW anyway and he was wearing a cut off shirt, shorts and his boots. He was not prepared for me to show up. My first impression of him was exactly what I needed. He was genuine, sweet, a great listener and best of all... I knew right away that we were going to have a good time. We've grown in love together ever since. Some people change your life for the better. I'm truly blessed to share this life with one of the Greats.
