We did! We wanted our marriage date to be on the same day we started dating (April 25) but most of our family and friends were unable to make that day on such short notice. We also were unable to have the traditional tea ceremony so we decided we would have our big wedding on September 28th and exchange our written vows in front of everyone (we did not share these vows in April). Plus, we wanted to make sure we get the chance to party with you all!
Can I still RSVP after August 31st?
If the RSVP is not returned by this date, we will consider you and your party as a “no.” Our guest count will be finalized that day as we need to provide total numbers to our venue. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Can I bring a plus one?
Unfortunately, we are only able to accommodate a specific number of guests in our budget so we ask that the only guests attending the wedding are those whose names are on the RSVP list.
What should I wear to the tea ceremony?
Traditionally, an Ao Dai is worn. An example of an Ao Dai is at the bottom of the Q&A.
However, this is not a requirement. You are free to wear whatever you would like, for example:
Women: nice dress
Men: button up shirt and slacks
What should I wear to the wedding ceremony?
Semi-formal attire recommended but please, wear what you feel comfortable in. There are no restrictions in the color you wear EXCEPT for the number 1 rule: DO NOT wear white.
Where is Chico, CA?
Chico, CA is 1.5 hours north of the Sacramento Airport (SMF).
You may need to rent a car if you are not carpooling. I do not recommend car service (Uber, Lyft, taxi, etc.) because it would be way too expensive.
Call Jen or Derick if you need help figuring it all out.
Is there a hotel block under your name?
There is not. However, you can find the affordable hotels that we suggested close to the venues under the "Travel" section of this website and listed in the Details card of your invitation.
