We met in November 2022 on a dating app neither of us expected would change our lives. What first caught my eye about Derrick? Well, he was tall! (The Lord knew the desires of my heart.) 🤣💕🙌🏽🥰

After just a few days of chatting, Derrick asked if I was free that weekend. Of course, I said yes. He asked what I wanted to do and if I was open to anything. Again—yes. That’s when he suggested we do something outside. 😩 Anyone who knows me knows I don’t like being outside and hot at the same time. 🫤. Naturally, I would have chosen something different to do, but I went with the flow and to my surprise, we had a really good time. 🙌🏽

Our daytime outing turned into hours of laughing and learning about one another. The conversation flowed so effortlessly that Derrick suggested grabbing drinks at Starbucks. We sat at Starbucks talking until midnight. The next day we made brunch plans and by the end of that weekend, I remember thinking, he’s got a chance. 🤣💯🥰💕

Fast forward through countless adventures, endless laughter, and growing love—on February 24, 2024, Derrick surprised me with a beautifully planned engagement party surrounded by our closest friends and family. And now, here we are—getting ready to say “I do.”
