In 1987, we met on a runway—not in Paris or New York, but at a church fashion show filled with laughter, community, and youthful energy. We were just teenagers, dressed in our Sunday best, walking with nervous excitement in front of our church family. And by fate or divine design, we were paired to walk with each other in that show.

That moment changed everything.

It was love at first sight—pure, innocent, and powerful. Our connection was immediate and unexplainable, like something out of a storybook. But as young love often goes, life had its own plans. We were forbidden to date at the time, but we still remained friends through the years and stayed connected. We went our separate ways.

And yet, even though life took us down different paths—through a lot of pain, joy, heartbreak, learning from our mistakes, growth, and change—we never truly let go. We never stopped caring. We always found a way to check in, to reach out, and to say those three simple, sacred words: I love you.

We never gave up on each other.

We still have the love letters and pictures from 39 years ago—proof that what we felt then was real. Time has only deepened that connection. Our bond endured distance, silence, and circumstance. It waited patiently for its season to come.

And it did.

Today, we stand side by side—not just as a couple reunited, but as two hearts that were always meant to find their way back. This will be a celebration of a promise that outlived time, a connection that never faded, and a love story that has come full circle.

Through it all, God remained with us—guiding, protecting, and preparing us for this moment. His hand was on our journey, even when we didn’t see it. And today, we give Him all the glory and gratitude for bringing us back to one another.
