Just on the outskirts of Banff. Rod would like to book a boy's day fishing trip for whoever is interested. We like to walk around the lake to the bridge and catch lots of picturesque views. On the road to this lake, there is an old town site (lower bankhead trail), paddleboard lakes (Two Jack and Johnson Lake) or a nice hangout lake for the kids (cascade ponds)

Kananaskis village has e-bike rentals and easy walking trails right around the hotel, or drive a short way to troll falls (easy hike with kids) or ribbon creek (easy to hard depending on how far up you go). A short drive away takes you to Mt Lorette Ponds. For more adventures, check out surrounding area hikes too.

Day hike to lake with views and fishing. Parking at "Upper Kananaskis Lake Day Use Area". About 1 hr 45 min drive from Calgary, or 40 min drive from Kananaskis Lodge. If you don't want to do the 3hr out and back hike up the mountain to see Rawson Lake, there is still a route around Upper Kananaskis lake and some picnic spots. Can get cold and windy around the lake.
