SWIPE-SWIPE

It all started with a swipe during Covid... Chris had relocated back to Maine, from Connecticut, for a couple of months while he was laid off from work during the Covid 19 crisis. During this period in time, he thought it would be a great idea to put some time into dating since his work seemed to preoccupy the rest of his free time. Even though his profile pictures featured him in braces, what really caught the Maine natives, eye was his picture of his dog. Destiny swiped right, and the rest was history.

For two months after the swipe, they talked and talked, until Chris decided to move forward, throw all precautions to the wind, and asked to meet Destiny in person. She said yes, and they met at Emmas Eats snack shack at Pine Point Beach. Although it was closed due to Covid, they still enjoyed each others company while walking the beach. They walked all the way from Pine Point to camp ellis and back. Destiny's quads were sore and Chris's calves were beat but they knew the soreness was worth it. They continued on their summer romance and took many trips around Maine to locations Chris knew about, but Destiny had never seen. The Non-Native Maine boy was showing the Native Maine girl the best spots in Maine. On May 15th, Chris asked destiny to be his girlfriend.

Dating

Shortly after the summer started, Chris needed to return back to Connecticut for work. Although he was sad to leave Maine, he thought it would be a great idea to take a piece of Maine with him. He asked Destiny to come back to Connecticut with him, and within 6 months she took a leap of faith and moved to Connecticut. If it didn't work now, then it wasn't going to. However they knew it would work. They got a new dog, Ranger, in December to entertain Kona and frequented back to Maine as often as possible. Moving together, They recognized that they were each others person. They enjoyed doing everything together. They were each others best friend.

Move back to Maine?

After a few years of living in Connecticut, Chris got a new job back in Maine, and they needed to move back to Maine. They both were excited to get back to Maine and around family. Even though at the time they had no where to live together. for the first few months, Chris commuted back and forth from Biddeford while Destiny lived at Chris's parents with both dogs. Eventually they found a place to be together in Old Orchard Beach, Maine just before Christmas. They were finally able to be together again and that's what mattered most.

The proposal---She said YES!

Shortly after, Chris bought a ring instead of doing laundry that day. Destiny yelled at Chris for not doing laundry, and she had no idea what actually was happening. In their kitchen on July 1st, 2023, Chris proposed to Destiny and asked to marry him. Even though she hadn't showered yet and her nails weren't done, she said yes. The rest was history.
